The North Carolina Literacy Association (NCLA) supports the development and sustained growth of independent community-based literacy programs through public awareness, advocacy and the sharing of ideas and methodologies.

The North Carolina Community College System provides educational opportunities for adults to improve their reading, writing, mathematics, and communication skills through five major program components (Adult Basic Education, General Educational Development, Adult High School, English as a Second Language, and Compensatory Education).

The NC LiteracyCorpsENGAGE Project is a cohort of AmeriCorps members working to increase the capacity and direct service impact of North Carolina's campus and community-based literacy programs.
