Chatham County Literacy Council

Helping adults acquire literacy skills to be successful in life!

Take the first step

The Chatham County Literacy Council’s trained tutors help adults build their basic communication skills, attain a high school equivalency diploma, or learn to speak, read and write in English when it is not their primary language. Our small-group and one-one-one tutoring sessions are free and are offered at a variety of sites around the county.

If you or someone you know could benefit from our services, click on What we offer,  take a look at our Student FAQ, check out our Schedule -- then take the first step!

If you would like to work with adult learners as a volunteer tutor, see our Tutor FAQ page for details.
